Several traditional financial and cryptocurrency executives have also backed the former U.S. president for a second term.

Elon Musk supports Trump

In recent months, Donald Trump has received support from a wide range of business and technology executives as he faces off against President Joe Biden in the upcoming election. The Republican nominee has also seen his influence grow in the cryptocurrency space as executives and users reign in support in anticipation of pro-industry regulations.

In particular, Tesla CEO Elon Musk has thrown his weight behind Donald Trump following a series of speculations. The CEO wrote on X (formerly Twitter) that he fully supports the former President and wishes him a speedy recovery. This comes after an attack on Donald Trump during a recent rally in PennsylvaniaMusk also clarified the traditional media’s “fake news” about the former president, calling for truthful reporting on the social media platform.

The Tesla CEO previously reinstated Trump’s X account after a poll saw a majority of users vote in favor of the move following his previous suspension on most social media platforms. Trump has also publicly supported Elon Musk in the past, describing him as a genius, comparing him to Thomas Edison.

“… Well, you have to give him credit, I’ve talked to him a lot recently and he’s also doing the rocket thing… he’s one of our great geniuses and we have to protect our geniuses. We have to protect Thomas Edison.”

Both Musk and Trump share similar views on freedom of speech, both constantly taking shots at the mainstream media and fake news. Musk later bought Twitter stressing the need to achieve freedom of speech. However, both men have different ideals. While Trump is not pro-climate change, Elon Musk differs in producing electric vehicles to reduce carbon emissions.

Musk Donates, Other Tech CEOs Donate to Super PACs

Elon Musk and many other corporate executives have donated to Donald Trump’s campaign for various reasons. According to the Wall Street Journal, Musk will donate $45 million a month to a Super PAC that is backing Trump for a second term. Other donors include Jeo Lonsdale, 8VC co-founder Kelly Craft, and the Winklevoss twins. Trump is also backed by billionaires Bill Ackman, David Sacks, Timothy Mellon, Jamie Dimon, Shaun Maguire, etc.

Sacks praised the Republican nominee for his choice of vice president, Senator Mr. J.D. Vancedescribing him as an American patriot.

When the Twin Towers fell, JD Vance joined the Marine Corps, eager to seek justice for America’s enemies. He later came to believe that the Forever Wars were a mistake. That’s who I want alongside Trump: an American patriot, with the courage to fight America’s wars but the wisdom to know when to avoid them. God bless JD, God bless Trump, and God bless America.”

Cryptocurrency enthusiasts follow suit

Digital asset users have expressed optimism that a Trump presidency will push forward with pro-crypto regulations to stabilize the market. The former president has recently pivoted to the market, sparking interest among participants. The last two years have seen the Securities and Exchange Commission (

SEC) file lawsuits against industry executives and cryptocurrency companies.

This has led to a slowdown in market development and the migration of talent to other jurisdictions. While there have been regulatory efforts in Congress this year, stakeholders say the current level of adoption should usher in further progress. Bitcoin prices hit an all-time high after spot ETFs were approved in the U.S. Crypto executives have also donated to Super PACs pushing for pro-industry regulation.
