Another major company has announced an expansion of its investment portfolio, including flagship cryptocurrency Bitcoin.
Semler Scientific, a large healthcare technology company, has made a strategic decision to diversify its foreign exchange reserves and Bitcoin serves as your primary investment.
In this bold move, Semler Scientific purchased 581 BTC for a total cost of $40 million. The company trusts Bitcoin as a store of value that can be relied on in the long term.
Eric Semler, president of the company, clarified the reasons for this change. Many things attracted him to Bitcoin. Among them: the enormous volume of daily transactions and the scarcity that contrasts with all other resources. For him, this scarcity amounts to a potential hedge against inflation and a safe haven in times of global economic turbulence.
In doing so, he also highlighted that, unlike most conventional assets like gold, Bitcoin is digitally resilient, immune to normal types of electronic attacks against public networks.
The adoption of Bitcoin by major financial institutions also pushed Sempler Scientific to make this decision.
Although Bitcoin plays an important strategic role for Semler Scientific, this company is still focused on its original business of creating pioneering medical products designed to help patients dealing with chronic diseases.
