“I really give Congressman Khanna a lot of credit for bringing together 30 or so industry leaders to have the opportunity to directly engage with Ms. Dunn and, by extension, the White House,” said Paul Grewal, chief legal officer for the cryptocurrency exchange. Monetary base.
“It was clear that those in attendance understood the importance and opportunity that cryptocurrency presents,” said Sheila Warren, CEO of Cryptographic Innovation Council.
“I left full of hope for the conversations to come and even more committed to championing the promise of this revolutionary technology to transform systems,” she added in a statement.
Grewal described the meeting as a “decisive moment” for the Biden administration to change its “almost uniformly hostile stance” toward cryptocurrencies, as Republicans and former President Trump embrace the industry.
“We’re at a pivotal moment with Republicans fully embracing cryptocurrency, literally putting it on their platform for the next convention in very specific and concrete terms,” he told The Hill. “So I think the administration has a choice to make at this point.”
