Bloomberg seeks corporate finance reporter in London

Bloomberg News is looking for an experienced corporate finance reporter in London to report on bond offerings, develop stories on market trends and write authoritatively about the European credit market.

You’ll be part of a team of experienced journalists covering some of the world’s biggest debt markets and regularly producing well-read stories on Terminal and across the web. You will be part of a fast-paced team helping to deliver news on new title sales across Europe to Terminal customers. We’ll need your help to uncover the details of new deals in the primary market quickly and accurately. A good understanding of corporate finance and debt issuance is critical.

In addition to short, on-the-spot stories, you will be expected to produce longer analytical pieces on bond market trends, leveraging the power of data within the terminal and working with colleagues across the team across EMEA and globally.

  • Monitor the new issue bond market and track context and analysis
  • Track credit trends for movements and develop ideas into short and long stories
  • Provides a constant stream of news and content for expert and non-expert readers
  • Work well and collaborate with colleagues across EMEA and globally
  • Recognize and work on big stories and thematic ideas
  • Be able to write and present information in various formats

WE HOPE YOU HAVE:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Proven ability to produce and build sources in financial markets
  • A minimum of three years in journalism with a focus on fixed income markets or corporate finance, including stints in a real-time breaking news environment
  • Real-time news experience
  • Ability to write quickly and clearly under deadline pressure
  • Ability to generate exclusive breaking news as well as informative reports
  • A proven ability to multitask and prioritize
