Global technology outage hits financial services firm Charles Schwab

Amidst a wide global IT outageSome investors were facing outages on Friday at financial services firms, including Charles Schwabone of the largest brokerage firms in the country.
The problems stem from a faulty software update from cybersecurity company CrowdStrikethat affected companies around the world, including Airlinesbanks and media.
DownDetector showed no significant outage reports for Vanguard or Fidelity.
“Following the widespread third-party outage, Vanguard’s portfolio management trading functions across all regions are operating normally and there are no “We continue to monitor and assess the situation, and are working diligently to ensure business continuity for our clients globally.”
Fidelity told CNBC that the company was aware of the issues and that it did not appear to be affected as of midday Friday.
