Meghan Markle and Prince Harry risk ‘financial problems’ in next 18 months amid ‘lower interest’ fears
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry could be at risk of “financial problems” in the next 18 months, a royal expert has warned, as Netflix could have “less interest” in the couple following the end of The Crown.
In a major blow to the couple, royal commentator and expert Richard Fitzwilliams explained that the Duke and Duchess’ multimillion-pound deal with the streaming giant is set to end in 2025.
However, fears have arisen for the couple over whether the platform will renew their contract before the end of next year.
The couple are believed to have at least two projects in the works, with Harry reportedly working on a show about polo and Meghan on a show about cooking and gardening.

The launch of the Duchess of Sussex’s fashion show will likely coincide with her new brand, America Riveria Orchard, which launched in March.
According to the royal commentator, one of the reasons for the problem could be the recent end of The Crown.
“This [the deal] ends next year and Netflix is no longer producing The Crown series as it previously did,” Fitzwilliams told Mirror.
“They may therefore have less interest in the Sussexes.
LATEST REAL:
“If they were to lose this contract, with Archewell, their corporate and charitable foundation, having so few donors, they could well be in financial difficulties.
“Since their real-life revelations have made megabucks but little else has made money, the Royal Family better hope this unpredictable and relentlessly ambitious couple stays on Netflix.”
The topic of the couple’s finances has already been a topic of discussion among royal experts, with royal commentator Michael Cole suggesting that Harry’s constant and repeated legal challenges could “dissipate his fortune.”
“It’s an extremely expensive process,” he told GB News.
“Particularly when you are paying your own way, like Prince Harry is doing now.
“The prince of litigation returned to the lists today, he has several cases in progress.
“Sometimes it’s hard to follow, but he’s going up against the major red tabloids and the mid-market tabloids and he wants to win.
“Whether he is wise to do that, I’m not sure. You can spend a lot of money very, very quickly.
“Reports say he and his wife are worth $500 million. Whether that’s true or not, it seems like a very high number to me.
“You can dissipate your fortune very, very quickly by investing too much in the law.”
