As the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia emerges as a global hub for innovation, Outer Edge, founded by Company boardmade its first regional appearance in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on 23 April. The monumental event took place at The garage, an incubator and accelerator for regional and global technology-focused startups, disruptors and SMEs. Initiatives such as Outer Edge – Riyadh, in collaboration with Animoca brands and The Garage, play a vital role in introducing the future of technology to the region and beyond.
The opening speech, delivered by His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Bandar Bin Sultan, President of the Saudi Esports Federation, was a recognition of gamers, creatives and technology enthusiasts from around the world.
HRH spoke about the transformation gaming has undergone over the past two years, saying: “We recognize gaming not just as entertainment but as a powerful platform for social cohesion, innovation and empowerment. Through strategic initiatives and investments, we are laying the foundation for Saudi Arabia to become a global hub for gaming and eSports. Let’s not underestimate the transformative power of games to affect positive change. We harness its potential to inspire creativity, foster collaboration and build bridges across borders.”
Debates focused on the implications of decentralized Web3 technology and artificial intelligence on economic systems and society. With the aim of raising awareness and recognizing human potential. The summit was adorned with unique artworks by emerging Saudi artists curated by Nuqtahthe first Saudi NFT market, and concluded with an energetic musical performance by emerging Saudi artists, brother duo DASH PLATEone of the most successful DJs in the country.
Joshua Kriger, co-founder of Edge of Company and Outer Edge and co-host of the Edge of NFT podcast, said during the opening ceremony: “The soul of innovation lives in the DNA of the people of the Kingdom and those of you in the room. This is not a conference, this is not a summit, this is a forum, it is a meeting place where ideas and points of view are exchanged.”
