Robinhood Markets Considers Listing Cryptocurrency Futures in U.S., Europe (NASDAQ:HOOD)

- Robinhood Markets (NASDAQ:HOOD) plans to offer cryptocurrency futures in the United States and Europe this year, a Bloomberg report said, citing people familiar with the company.
- “We have no imminent plans to launch these offerings,” a company spokesperson said.
- The company is looking to use Bitstamp’s licenses to offer perpetual futures contracts for Bitcoin (BTC-USD) and other tokens in Europe, the report said.
- Last month, Robinhood Markets (HOOD) agreed to acquire Bitstamp, a global cryptocurrency exchange, for $200 million.
- The report also states that the company plans to list BTC and Ether (ETH-USD) futures contracts on the CME in the United States
- HOOD shares fell 2.9%.
